Edinburgh is the political and cultural capital of the Scotland, the independent region inside of the Great Britain. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Geographically it is situated near the southern rivers of the Firth of Forth (estuary of the River Forth), where rises the port. Edinburgh initially has been a fortress of the Britain, and after of the Romans. From the 7th Century it was developed like a city. It became the capital of the Scotland in 1437. From the end of the 18th Century the industrial development brought a remarkable change to the aspect of the city.

Edinburgh is a harbour city, became rich also thanks to its coalmines. But more returns also from agriculture, fishing, production of whisky, tourism, oil, methane from North Sea, and from companies specialized in electronics and technology.

The splendour of the centre of the city is testified from the ancient buildings: wonderful houses of the 5hundred and Georgian and Victorian monumentally masterpieces.

The entire city has been declared patrimony of the humanity from the UNESCO.

The country is studded of lakes and highlands, emanates that fascination absolutely magical certificate from the ancient legends.

There are big green spaces, the lakes. Mountains, island and the myths . like that of the Nessie, an aquatic monster that would live in deep and dark waters of Lock ness. But is a legend, and who lives around Loch ness, it has constructed a large business.

Edinburgh is the cultural capital and a city from the various contrasts. National museum of Scotland:

It's a fine example of traditional and modern architecture working in harmony. There are greatest collection of European paintings and sculpture from the renaissance to post-impressionism. There are masterpieces of Paul van Dyck, Giambattista Tiepolo, Antonio Canova, Sandro Botticelli, Bernini, Gauguin, Raphael, Titian, Rembrandt, Cézanne.

The palace of Holy Road house:

It's the queen's Scottish residence.

Calton Hill:

One of Edinburgh's many hills; it is unmistakable with its Athenian style acropolis, poking above the skyline.

Edinburgh castle:

It's one of the city's landmarks, and it's situated in the city centre on the craggy remains of an extinct volcano.

The Royal museum:



There is an international collection of Victorian buildings. There are exhibit ions of jewellery, European art, costume, various traditional cultures, like Japanese and Chinese, and fossils.

Edinburgh ZOO:

Many people visit this because it's active in conserving endangered species like the Siberian tiger.

Edinburgh Military Tattoo:

It's a great international gathering. The tattoo is one of the great entertainments on the world stage today.

Royal Botanic Garden

This garden is acknowledged to be one of the finest in the world, where unusual and beautiful ts can be found: tropical rainforest ts, bananas, rhododendrons, originally from the New Guinea and Borneo, and ts originally from China.


The accommodations most used are bed & breakfast, guest houses, hostels and hotels.
